Watch Springfield5!
Date: January 30th, 2009
What an exciting time to be a part of the Springfield community. My internship with the city has been an amazing brainstorming few weeks. Watch Springfield5! Today I did a voice over about the Wescott House. You'll hear my voice on that piece in 30 days. I always knew there was a lot to putting a television show together, but I never imagined it would be this in depth. I've seen so many different aspects of the process already but there's still so much to look forward to.
The next few weeks I'll be working hard to highlight some of the projects going on downtown. I'm so excited to share the great things Springfield is doing with its surrounding community. We are doing so much to reinvent ourselves as a city, but I don't know that many of the residents realize what we're doing and why we're doing it. I love that I get to share this information with the public through this internship. Start tuning in - to channel 5 - you'll see some very interesting new programming - you might even learn something you didn't know!
Cancer Center
Date: February 16th, 2009
This week I worked on putting together my first project - a piece about the Cancer Center.
The story of the Cancer Center is so inspiring. It almost brought tears to my eyes...I hope the piece itself has the same effect on my viewers. The story is coming together nicely - I don't want to give away too much you'll just have to watch for it on Spingfield5. While learning about the Cancer Center I came to realize how important my work is. The story of the Cancer Center is about more than just a new Cancer Center being built - its a symbol of how our community can work together to create something great - and its just the beginning of turning Springfield into the desirable place to live like it once was. Springfield already has a lot to offer, but these gems are hidden by towering empty buildings. It's my hope to uncover these gems by featuring them on Springfield5 and my first one is on its way! Can't wait for it to be on the air!!!
